In America a
foundation called ALS, put up a very interesting way for donating money for
charity.
I personally see it as a fine innovative idea because it as
ironically captured the interest of individuals even celebrities to participate
in donations. The other day it was Mark Zuckerberg , owner of facebook who was
nominated to do the challenge by the governor of New Jersey Chris Christie. Mark accepted the challenge
and in turn norminated Bill Gates and two other persons to take on the
challenge.
I know you will be definitely wondering especially if you don’t live in the US, what’s
this challenge all about and how it does affects people on donations to the
foundation mentioned above. Now I will explain. In relations to a cure and
treatment for the ALS( Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ) diseases, this challenge was set up by an ALS foundation to
meet the purpose of supporting in treatments and drug researches as well as the
people with such disease. It’s actually called the ice bucket challenge. What
happens is that someone will have to nominate about three persons to pure ice
cold water on themselves respectively. These people would have 24hours in doing
so or they donate $100 or do both.
Recently, August 14,
to be precise Mark Zuckerberg was
involved too in dousing himself to support and create awareness of the disease ALS. Many
celebrities like Justins Timberlake, Bill Gate, Justin Babier, David Beckham, Jenifer Lopez, just to mention
but few as been doused.
